LATEST NEWS: North Islands & World of Stocks

We have finally been able to do a bit of racing since winning the NZ's, and it has been great to get around a few different tracks too.

We attended the North Island Champs at Baypark and after a pretty average first night we just managed to qualify for the finals.

I can't remember the last time that a mechanical failure let me down, but in the first heat of the finals we had a wire fall off the switch for the fuel pump, which I have to say was very frustrating. I guess the way they ran the event with the 3rd heat winner takes all meant that I still had a slim chance.

I was down on points and after five or so laps of the final I knew I wasn’t going to make up that many places, so sat back and tried to help Richard to a win. That didn't quite go to plan, but he managed second place which was a good result.

We only had a couple of days to get the car ready as I was away for work, before heading up to Rotorua for the World of Stocks. It was a meeting that I was really looking forward to competing in and had an awesome time up there. The racing was really fast and I had a huge amount of fun in all three races, although again we didn't feature in the points. It was a tough couple of weeks and we had a fair amount of work to do to the car to get it ready for our next meeting.

We have done a few club nights in between and it's amazing how different the racing is when you have a number on the door, but I'm still loving every minute of it.

The car is all ready to go again as we head off Thursday morning for the Speedfest meeting in Huntly. I haven’t raced in Huntly for about five years, so I'm looking forward to this meeting and can’t wait to get up there as it seems like there is a bit of hype about it.

We have had to make a second order for t-shirts already and will have them with us this weekend. Stock is getting low again, so if you want one you’ll need to get in quick!

Cheers

Kyle
